Ayurvedic Practitioner
I work with people on diet, daily routine, and herbs. Consultations are online, or in person in Los Angeles.
Ayurveda doesn't assume there's one correct way to eat or live. It assumes the correct way depends on your constitution, the state your digestion is currently in, and the season. So most of a first consultation is spent working out where you actually are, before deciding what to change.
I try to send people away with less to do rather than more. A short list you'll keep beats a long one you won't.
We go through your history in detail: digestion, sleep, energy, appetite, stress, cycle if relevant. Then assessment, which includes pulse and tongue, plus a number of questions I'll ask you to answer honestly rather than politely. I write up a protocol afterwards and send it within three days.
We go over what worked, what you didn't do, and why. Then adjust. Most people want one a month at first, then one a season.
An initial consultation plus three follow-ups spanning a change of season. Season changes are usually where routines break, so this is the version I'd suggest if you've tried something like this before and it didn't stick.
I trained at the Ayurvedic Institute in Asheville, in the lineage of Dr. Vasant Lad, and completed two years of Ayurvedic Studies.
Write to me at ram.a.dixit@gmail.com. A few sentences about what's going on is enough to start with. I reply within two working days.
Ayurvedic consultation is health education and lifestyle guidance. It is not licensed medical care. I don't diagnose or treat disease, and nothing on this page is medical advice. Please don't delay or discontinue care from a physician because of anything you read here.
